What Are Some Side Effects Of Plan B and When Not To Use It

Some of the most common side effects that many women have experienced when they have taken Plan B as a form of an emergency contraception is generally the same as most birth control medications. Plan B is known as a form of emergency contraception that is usually used to help prevent pregnancy just in case your birth control was to fail, like if your condom was to break. This type of emergency contraceptive will not work if you are already pregnant.

General side effects that some females might have once they have taken the Plan B pill is abdominal pain, nausea, fatigue, heavy menstrual periods or even lighter menstrual periods, headaches, dizziness, diarrhea, breast tenderness, as well as vomiting.

The Plan B pill will not actually take the place of a regular birth control.  Therefore, you should not use it like it is a routine method of birth control because it is less effective. Also, Plan B will not protect you from any type of sexually transmitted diseases or HIV infections.

While using the Plan B pill if you were to experience some severe abdominal pains then you might be experiencing an ectopic pregnancy and you should go seek medical attention right away.

This pill is also known as the "morning after pill" but it can be effective up to 72 hours after sexual intercourse when it is taken.  Plan B has a very high dosage of progestin just like what are used in many brands of birth control pills.
