Lunelle is a type of birth control that is given as a monthly injection. These injections can be given in the thigh, arm, or buttocks. Synthetic progesterone and estrogen hormones are contained within Lunelle. It is an injection that helps to prevent your body from releasing an egg and helps to thicken your cervical mucus so that it will make it more difficult for your partner's sperm to try and enter into your uterus. These shots also cause the lining of the uterine wall to become less prepared in supporting a fertilized egg.
