What is a female condom?
Many people in today's society use a condom, however there are many women who have chosen to be the one to wear this form of contraception. A female condom is generally a polyurethane sheath that has a flexible ring on either end. With one of the ends closed it is inserted into the woman's vagina while the other end is left open with the ring sitting on the outside of the opening of a woman's vagina. The sheath of the female condom lines the walls of her vagina helping to create the barrier so that the sperm from the male does not pass into her cervix.
You want to make sure that you and your partner never wear a condom at the same time. This could cause them to become stuck together or either one of them could slip off while having intercourse and this would cause the condoms to not be effective.
A female condom can be inserted in the vagina up to 8 hours prior to having sex but you will want to make sure that you remove it immediately after you have intercourse.
Also if the female condom is used correctly it will help to protect you or your partner from sexually transmitted diseases and HIV. They might be awkward at first but you will get use to them.
There are several advantages to using a female condom that you and your partner will still get the same pleasures from when using this form of birth control.
