What Is A Condom?

Many people in the world today look for a type of contraception to help reduce the chances of becoming pregnant. One of the best and well-known types are condoms. Condoms have been made for both male and females, and most people refer to them as either a condom or as a rubber.

This is a commonly used product that is known as a barrier method. A condom helps to keep the semen, which is the fluid that contains the sperm, from entering into a woman's vagina. The male condom would be placed on the guy's penis before intercourse. If you happen to be using a female condom, they can be inserted in as long as 8 hours prior to having sexual intercourse. Be sure that you and your partner do not use a condom at the same time however because this could cause one of them to come off.

Once a condom has been used, be sure that you throw it into the garbage and not into the toilet. They can only be used once so do not try to reuse them.

Not only do condoms help to protect against pregnancy but it also helps to reduce the risk of sexually transmitted diseases.

Some condoms that you can purchase today have spermicide inside them also helping to decrease the chances of pregnancy.

Most of the condoms for males are made from latex therefore if you are allergic to latex, be sure that you purchase styles that are made from polyurethane.
